The Archdiocese of Veszprém is one of the twelve Roman Catholic dioceses in Hungary. The bishopric of Veszprém was established in the early period of Hungarian church organization, around 1000. It is one of the 10 dioceses founded by Saint Stephen, the first bishopric in Hungary.
Currently, there are nearly 180 parishes in the main diocese's operational area. In addition, there is a diocese-maintained college and secondary school in Veszprém, primary education institutions in the diocese's larger towns (Ajká, Keszthely, Pápa, Tapolca, Várpalotá, Veszprém), and kindergartens in two settlements, Veszprém and Pápa. The archdiocese maintains social institutions in Hévíz and Veszprém. Among its cultural institutions, in order of establishment, the Archbishop's Archives, the Archbishop's Library, the Archdiocese Collection and the Salesian Archdiocese Tourist Center should be mentioned.
NEXON's HR software was chosen to handle the payroll and human resource management tasks of the Archdiocese and all of its independently managed institutions. We asked controller Annamária Haraszti about her experiences.
Annamária Haraszti: The decision was made in the middle of 2020 to replace the previous payroll program, because we encountered more and more difficulties, primarily in the field of data provision and servicing of the management information system.
An important aspect of the program change was the need for all institutions to process wage and employment data uniformly under the same conditions and systems, so that comparable and transparent information is available to the archdiocese's decision-makers.
Creating lists and queries that can be compiled individually is a great relief, especially for institutions, who from now on receive the desired statements, tax returns and statistics from the Economic Office of the Archdiocese.
During the project, we also introduced the NEXON_PORT employee and manager self-service system. In the beginning, we experienced some mistrust among employees, especially the older age groups stick more to paper-based solutions, but
the electronic payroll is becoming more and more popular among the colleagues.
Since we are still in the training phase close to the introduction, we are not fully utilizing the potential of the solution, but this situation will obviously change over time.
In summary, with the introduction of the NEXONbér and NEXON_PORT software, we get up-to-date data, management information on demand can be provided more quickly, and the creation of the distribution of wage costs and the opportunities to reduce administration inherent in the self-service system also help our work.
In conclusion, I would like to emphasize that in the employees of NEXON Kft., who participated in the project, we got to know a very helpful, professionally well-prepared team, who supported us throughout the entire project and responded to all our questions and problems patiently and in a timely manner. All in all, we can say that we have completed a successful launch.
