History
1989.
NEXON's founders saw an opportunity to computerise payroll as soon as personal computers were introduced in Hungary, and in 1985 we developed our first payroll software for IBM XT computers.
Major companies and institutions such as Agroker, Röltex, Vasért, the Central Statistical Office, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Hungarian Tax Office (APEH) have used it.
NEXON Ltd. was founded in 1989, and in 1992 the second generation version of our software was completed, which was the first on the Hungarian market to manage payroll, sick pay and labour tasks in an integrated way. By the end of 1992, the software was serving 230 customers and our company started to grow rapidly.
1994.
During these years, the initial labour and personnel records were transformed into a modern human resources management system, replacing manual time and attendance with an integrated access and time recording system.
Our payroll outsourcing service was launched.
We were the first IT company in Hungary to obtain ISO 9001 certification.
2004.
The company celebrates its 15th anniversary with a unified new look for its products. The education business develops into a separate business, an accredited higher education centre. The all-new nexONBÉR and nexONHRM programmes are launched, and the HR system is enriched with performance management (PM) and training record (TD) modules. The company again comes top in the "Best Workplace" survey.
The NEXON software runs under Microsoft SQL and a version migrated to the Oracle platform is completed. In 2006, the HR system will be completed with the NEXONJOB recruitment software.
In 2008, the persONLINE web-based employee self-service system is introduced
The NEXON Academy launches vocational training courses for the OKJ and we win the CSR Hungary award.
2009.
NEXON celebrates 20 years of renewal of our products. Alongside the integrated NEXONhr and NEXONtime programmes, the new NEXONbér has been produced, summarising 20 years of experience. In this way, NEXON was already providing a complete solution for the entire life cycle of company employees.
One of the world's largest outsourcing providers, ADP, has entrusted NEXON with its representation in Hungary.
Our software is now available as a cloud-based SaaS service, we have obtained ISO 27001 certification and implemented an Information Security Management System.
In 2011, we started developing our 4th generation system. We have been recognised as a certified IT company by the IVSZ
Launched the National Payroll Championship, a prestigious competition for the payroll profession, with a total prize of HUF 2 million.
2014.
The NEXON_PORT employee and manager self-service HR system is completed and the development of our 4th generation system continues, offering mobility and a completely new customer experience using state-of-the-art technology. To further strengthen our adult education activities, we acquired Milton Kft, a major player in the domestic education market.
Our company celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2014. As market leader, we provide payroll and human resources support to nearly 3,000 clients and one million employees.
NEXONkir, the complete human resources management solution for institutions using the new Centralised Payroll Accounting System (KIRA), is ready.
A strategic cooperation with the Kodolányi János College has been established, in the framework of which we have jointly launched the Human Resources Business Organiser specialisation training and the NEXON External Chair Group has been established.
We integrated the electronic signature option into our HR system and introduced and evangelised electronic invoicing to our clients.
In 2016, the foundation stone was laid for NEXON's new stand-alone headquarters. We moved into the office building, which was built with sustainability in mind, in 2017.
2019.
NEXON is 30 years old! We started the anniversary with the slogan "30 years behind us, the world ahead!" and continued with our usual HR innovation. We launched iPlan, the only automatic scheduling software on the Hungarian market, and a smartphone-optimised version of our self-service HR solution. Our staff reached 300, so our new, privately owned headquarters, which we opened in 2017 and which was a finalist for Office of the Year in 2018, is fully occupied. This was the first year we won the Employer of Choice award.
2021.
The explosion of digitalisation has reinforced NEXON's belief in and commitment to digital HR services. We have added new features to our self-service solution NEXON_PORT, available on the web and mobile phone. We introduced NEXON\worklfow, our HR workflow support solution, and NEXON\analytics, our real-time data analysis and decision support solution.
In order to serve our customers directly, we opened our fifth service centre in Debrecen, in addition to our four regional offices.

Since founding our business in 1989, we have led it as owner - managers.
