On this occasion, we interviewed Szilvia Hajdú Hajdú, NEXON Services Area Director, to find out what is behind their success, what challenges are shaping the market and what plans they have for the future.
- What is the secret behind NEXON's ability to remain a market leader in payroll and HR outsourcing services for years?
NEXON's success lies in the perfect balance of technology and human expertise. This combination ensures that our customers always receive the best service - whether they are multinational corporations or medium-sized domestic enterprises.
First, I would like to highlight our experienced and constantly evolving team of experts. We place a strong emphasis on internal knowledge sharing and continuous training, so that we are always up to date with our clients' needs. We account for the salaries of 77,000 employees for more than 370 clients, which gives us a huge advantage in terms of experience.
In addition, our services are flexible and adaptable, so we can easily adapt to the changing needs of companies. Our proprietary software ensures stability and high quality, serving small and large companies alike.
What are the main factors affecting the Hungarian payroll market and how is NEXON responding?
In recent years, companies have become increasingly cost-conscious and, with rising wages, many are opting to outsource payroll as it can be a more cost-effective solution than keeping processes in-house. NEXON's service can be the best choice with its competitive prices.
There is an increasing trend for multinational companies to outsource to global service providers, but as they also have to comply with local regulations, it is important to choose the right local partner. NEXON has been working with one of the world's largest global payroll providers for over 15 years, so we are a trusted partner in this respect too.
We also have a solution for resource shortages at our partners' sites, and under certain conditions we can provide temporary assistance and take over their payroll services.
What challenges does the payroll sector face and how is NEXON addressing them?
The biggest challenge is the lack of professionals. Payroll is not one of the most popular professions, so it is difficult to attract young and skilled workers. Recognising this, we have reformed our internal training system and further developed our mentoring programme. We also place a strong emphasis on employee retention, with competitive benefits packages, half-yearly bonuses and flexible working options.
How does it work with a new client?
The first step is always to understand the company's payroll processes. It is important for us to be able to recommend efficient, standard practices to our clients and to apply them in our joint work, thus ensuring smooth and compliant operation. We will provide support throughout the transition to ensure that new customers can integrate our services as easily as possible.
What future developments is NEXON planning?
At the end of 2024, we launched a customer satisfaction survey on our human resources and payroll services, and based on the feedback we will develop actions and implement the necessary improvements and changes in our operations already in 2025. In the future, we will repeat this survey every six months so that we can continuously improve according to our partners' needs. We will also introduce a centralised telephone helpline in our payroll service this year.
There is a strong demand for our HR outsourcing service, whereby we take some HR administration tasks off the shoulders of our clients, either completely or temporarily.
In addition, we have gradually started to roll out our next generation eHR system, which will make payroll faster and more secure with automation, dashboard and workflow solutions. The system can be easily extended with new features, allowing us to continuously improve our service.
Why should a company outsource its payroll?
Payroll is a very complex area, subject to constant changes in legislation. If a company carries out this task in-house, it needs to ensure continuous training for its staff and a reliable software package. And a potential error can entail serious financial risks.
When payroll is outsourced, not only the work but also the responsibility is transferred to the service provider. NEXON guarantees legal compliance, data security and accurate payroll.
Our service is backed by high quality, audited IT security and operational support. The management of personal data, the long term preservation of the data, and the uninterrupted availability of the application require an IT infrastructure and IT expertise that a significant number of companies do not have.
The convenience of our management and employee self-service application for outsourced payroll does not have to be sacrificed, enhancing the employee experience.
What advice do you have for companies that have not yet decided to outsource their payroll?
It is important for a company to be clear about its needs and expectations. We help customers identify their needs at the sales stage, so that we can offer them the most optimal and effective solution. Outsourcing payroll is not only an administrative relief, but can also be a cost-effective and secure solution in the long term.
