We tried it, we tested it, our Business Development Director Andor Glatt talks about MI in HR.In his presentation he shared his experiences.
On 26 September, the recruiTECH BLUE 2024 conference was a full house. Thank you to our stand visitors for their interest, positive feedback and for filling in our short questionnaire!
The presentation of our Business Development Director Andor Glatt was well attended, which shows that the practical application of artificial intelligence is a hot topic. Perhaps precisely because our spring survey showed that only 3.6% of the companies surveyed currently use AI in recruitment, while 17.5% plan to use it in some form.
When asked what tasks they could imagine using AI for in recruitment, pre-screening CVs (66%), contacting candidates (58%) and organising appointments (58%) received the most votes.
Andor Glatt tested three AI systems - ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot - to see what they can already be used for in recruitment.
As a first step, he used them to draft a job advertisement. The results showed that each of them drafted the ad correctly, but it took repeated clarifications and “nudges” to get them to come up with a youthful, dynamic, punchy piece of material that was in line with the company's image.
Our presenter then tested the screening capabilities of the AI. The task was a pre-screening of sixteen CVs by an experienced project manager. The prescreening was also done by Andor Glatt and he found that the proposals of two MI systems met his assessment at 50%, while the third MI did not even reach 40%.
In the end, all three MI systems handled the rejection letter in a flawless, polite and selective manner.
What is the lesson? AI, while speeding up the recruitment process, is not yet suitable for all tasks and should be used with reservations. However, it is developing very rapidly...
