
ZALAVÍZ Zrt. (full name Észak-zalai Víz- és Csatornamű Zrt) is a 100 percent municipal-owned water utility service provider, which operates 39 drinking water plants and 21 wastewater systems in 162 settlements of Zala County, supplies nearly 150,000 people with healthy drinking water, and takes care of the disposal of the generated wastewater and cleaning.
It is important for users and consumers to have a safe, continuous service, which can be achieved with responsible thinking and employment: the employees are value-creating partners, they work in a predictable work environment, in a pleasant working atmosphere, and the balance of work and private life is optimal. They are rightly proud of the results achieved in the field of employment, the goal is to maintain and develop them while continuously ensuring the high quality of the service.
Along the lines of the above, ZALAVÍZ Zrt. chose NEXON's software to perform HR and payroll administration tasks. We asked HR manager Gábor Fókás about his experiences.
- What considerations led you to decide on NEXON?
We have been using NEXON's payroll and HR system for 9 years, which has proven to be a good fit for us. It works excellently both in terms of logical structure, updates and programming, and the partnership is smooth, so there was no question that the expansion of the HR system would be implemented in cooperation with NEXON.
- NEXON's portfolio at ZALAVÍZ Zrt. was significantly expanded in 2020.
In addition to the optimal use of HR resources, our primary goal is to retain our dedicated employees - and for this purpose - to provide high-quality HR services. We are in step with current trends, we have thought about forward-looking, 21st century solutions, and we support innovative investments.
Among other things, our plans include paperless, accurate - and last but not least - simple HR administration, as well as the involvement of our employees in HR processes. We wanted an easy-to-use system with an intuitive interface, which NEXON systems fully meet.
- What are your experiences of the NEXON_PORT management and emoloyee self service system so far?
We currently use five modules - employee data change notification, e-payroll, management hierarchy, viewing personal data and cafeteria.
We planned the introduction for a longer period of time, our goal was to achieve deep system knowledge of our employees.
With the outbreak of the SARS-Cov 2 pandemic, the introduction/change was timely, we quickly switched to the use of the e-payroll. The processes are also greatly simplified by the fact that the forms are now available electronically, and personal data can be modified with the push of a button.
Together with the management, we decided and voted for NEXON_PORT based on the calculation of profitability and usefulness. By using the web self-service solution, we have achieved simpler, paperless and efficient operation, and we have up-to-date employee data.
The position of HR has also changed in the organisation: the resources freed up by using PORT can be used for strategic planning: HR has moved from an administrative role to an internal HR service role.
Our employees experienced and continue to experience this role change and repositioning positively, as they receive a 21st century on-line service when the system warns them, e.g. that the C-category driver's license will soon expire.
- What feedback have you received about using NEXON_PORT+?
Mobile devices have become a part of our lives. ZALAVÍZ Zrt. provides every employee with a smart device for working. We currently operate in 162 settlements and we keep contact with the operaters via smart devices.
Using NEXON_PORT+ is a great experience for all os us, as it provides employees with secure access to their own profile and payslip via their smart phone.
Based on the feedback, our employees also requested access to vacation data and vacation planning. Of course, we will try to meet this demand as soon as possible, in addition to integrating access to the forms into the application. Our goal is to find and retain the best professionals, so we keep in mind the issue of employee experience and employee feedback.
After the introduction of PORT+, according to the senior opinion leaders, the application was easy to use, so it quickly passed through the organization, and the application was unanimously positively received by everyone - not only our generation Y and X employees.
- Are expansions planned in terms of software support for timekeeping and HR tasks/processes?
Yes, we want to continuously develop and expand in the area of HR IT. Next year, we plan to introduce NEXON's full time management system.
In addition, NEXON's newest solution, the NEXON Workflow process support solution, could be a very well-scheduled introduction, in my opinion.
Because it summarizes the steps to be implemented, addresses the actors involved in the process, and the appropriate person in charge receives the tasks at the right time according to the process - this would definitely be useful for us.
